Check out the LEXINGTON FILM FEST this weekend!

Presented by Catskill Mountain Foundation

Hey there cinephiles, it’s Brian from Kingston Film Foundation. I wanted to let you all know about this weekend’s Lexington Film Fest, an annual mini film festival that offers a curated weekend of screenings, parties and post-film panels, in Hunter, Lexington and Haines Falls. While Friday night’s screening is already sold out, there’s still a chance to get in on the Saturday and Sunday screenings.

On Saturday at 2pm, check out Deep Water: Building the Catskill Water System with a special appearance by Co-Director and Co-Producer Tobe Carey. Deep Water: Building the Catskill Water System is a 45-minute documentary that chronicles the construction of New York City's Catskill Water System in the early 20th century. The screening’s at Mountain Top Historical Society, 5132 NY-23A in Haines Falls. Tickets are going fast!

The festival closes on Sunday at 1pm, with a curated series of LGBTQ+ themed shorts, paired with moderated discussions for each film. This screening takes place at Mountain Cinema, 7971 Main Street (Route 23A) in Hunter. For a full list of shorts as well as advance tickets, check out the Lexington Film Fest website here.

One of my favorite things about living in the Hudson Valley is the incredible variety of arts and arts-related projects here. Catskill Mountain Foundation does excellent work suporting local artists, and connecting the arts with appreciative audiences. We share their vision that art can transform the lives of the people that create it and the people that appreciate it. Be sure to check out their programming, both this weekend and year round. We hope to see you there!
